Novartis Oncology Communications & Advocacy (NOCA), is committed to keeping the needs of patients at the forefront of its efforts by supporting activities of nonprofit patient organizations and healthcare or healthcare-related organizations with a global reach that address the needs of people living with cancer and rare diseases. These organizations are independent entities with their own missions and corporate governance. Other funding may be available through local Novartis organizations.
Organizations seeking funding must submit written proposals to the External & Patient Relations function for review and consideration. Funding requests for global-focused activities must receive Global review and approval, as well as local review when applicable. Local review depends on applicable laws and typically includes review by legal and/or compliance.
In alignment with recognized industry codes, such as those from the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry Association and the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industries, Novartis does not support events held at venues that are deemed luxury or could be perceived as luxurious based on amenities within or located close to the venue. All venues will be evaluated based on these standards and may result in denial of a funding request. For organizations requesting funding for live events, it is recommended to share the proposed venue with Novartis prior to selection to confirm appropriateness. Approval of venue does not guarantee approval of event funding.
Approval of funding for similar activities in previous years does not guarantee future approval or funding.
No requestor should consider any request approved until they have received an official e-mail notification of approval.
NOCA provides funding to nonprofit patient organizations and healthcare or healthcare-related organizations that work to support patient and caregiver needs and improve the health status of the community.
NOCA focuses on funding for activities that advance the objectives of these organizations in areas of therapeutic interest to Novartis Oncology.
