Each year, the global cancer community comes together on World Cancer Day to unite the world’s population in the fight against cancer, with the goal of raising awareness and education about cancer.

This year, the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), an organization that unites the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, is starting a social movement to encourage governments and individuals across the globe to take action by using the hashtag #WeCanICan.
At Novartis Oncology, our goal is to transform the way patients live with cancer. Through our various patient assistance programs and open partnerships within the oncology community, governments, nongovernmental organizations and international organizations, we are constantly looking for new ways to provide treatment access to patients. Novartis also supports programs and activities that bring thought leaders together to address these issues, including supporting the UICC, to promote greater equity and to integrate cancer control into the world health and development agenda.

We also understand that patients need information, support and tools so that they can be empowered to have more informed conversations with their physicians. Through the Count Us, Know Us, Join Us program, we aim to raise the voice of the advanced breast cancer community and empower patients to understand not only their disease but also their specific tumor type so that they can have informed conversations with their physicians about their treatment goals. Any One Any Lung seeks to correct common misconceptions and share the facts about lung cancer, with the ultimate goal of helping patients understand their genetic connections to the disease so that they can have a more meaningful dialogue with their doctors about tumor testing.
